Leonora Jenkins Bascom age 85, died December 21, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born June 6, 1913 in Kingston, Pennsylvania, to John Arthur and Blanche Cole Jenkins. Married George Rolland Bascom March 11, 1943 in Medford, Oregon. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.She was a secondary education teacher at Grossmont and San Diego Unified Districts. She was an active member of the LDS Church where she served many years in the Relief Society and as Relief Society President. She served as a seminary teacher, choir director, and was an accomplished violinist. She was a member of the San Diego Symphony for 20 years. She served four LDS missions with her husband. Survivors: husband; two sons, David G. (Tonya), Houston, Texas; Roger A. (Brooke), Provo, UT; 12 grandchildren and one great grandson. Preceded in death by a daughter, Megan Brey. Funeral services Wed., Dec. 23, 1998 at 12 noon at the Eagle Gate Stake Center, "A" Street and 2nd Ave. Friends may call Wed. 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment Centerville City Cemetery.
